After being denied a Best Actor nomination, BEN AFFLECK got a little justice when "Argo" won Best Picture at last night's Oscars. Ben fought back tears during his acceptance speech.
(--You can watch it here. You have to get through Jack Nicholson, Michelle Obama and one of the other "Argo" producers to get to Ben. He starts talking at the 5:07 mark.)
--"Argo" also won for Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
--ANG LEE won Best Director for "Life of Pi".
--JENNIFER LAWRENCE was a surprise winner for Best Actress, for "Silver Linings Playbook". DANIEL DAY-LEWISsurprised no one by winning Best Actor for "Lincoln".
--As you probably noticed, Jennifer FELL on her way up the stairs to pick up her award. (--Check it out here . . . along with four other supposed "can't miss" moments from the show.)
--QUENTIN TARANTINO won Best Original Screenplay for "Django Unchained" . . . and CHRISTOPH WALTZ won a second Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in that film.
(--In 2010, he won for Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds".)
(--And by the way, Tarantino was VERY humble and gracious in his acceptance speech. He basically just thanked his cast and praised all the other nominees in both the original and adapted screenplay categories.)
--And ANNE HATHAWAY won Best Supporting Actress for "Les Miserables".
